Broadband Services for All | Polar Communications
In our current society having access to reliable internet and technology is a must. In the Mid-West we have many rural communities who are either unserved or underserved in their technological needs. Everyone should have access to quality broadband, which is why CNE has been working as a strategic partner with many providers in extending this service. Today we want to share with you a project we have been working on with Polar Communications.
We started our journey in 2021 when we were able to help Polar Communications with the application process for the USDA RUS Reconnect Program. Since then, CNE has been working through the process of planning and designing this project and began construction in 2022. This undertaking will provide areas of Thompson, Reynolds, and Grand Forks, ND with updated broadband technologies. In total, around 200 miles of cable will be laid, and it is estimated that 650 homes will benefit from this work. Our engineers and technicians note that residents are happy to see this happening as they have been underserved for far too long. Once construction is finished, our CNE team will test and inspect the network. They will then have it certified before turning it over in its entirety to Polar Communications.
There are still opportunities for funding with the USDA RUS Reconnect Program, in fact the Round 4 application process will be opening in September. Don’t wait to bring this vital service to your community! CNE is ready to help you with every step of the way.
